The Department is seeking is seeking an experienced campaign manager at Public Affairs Officer – Grade 3 (PAO3) / EL1 level.

Role

Ideally, the candidate will have a good understanding of the government campaign process including:
  • > federal government communications campaigns and the associated approval process
  • > when to include or exclude specific campaign elements for CALD or indigenous audiences
  • > how to analyse media plans produced by the master advertising agency
  • > manage the internal departmental process

    Skills Required

    The client is looking for a suitably self-motivated (hit-the-ground-running) candidate with experience in:
    • > strategic communications
    • > high level stakeholder relationship skills with parties inside and outside government
    • > good negotiating and written and oral liaison skills
    • > ability to work within a budget
    • > contractor management.

      Specific Task

      This role will be involved from the early stages of setting up a government communications campaign with follow through implementation. The contract may extend beyond 6 months depending on progress.

      Demonstrated Experience

      • >Previous experience with implementation of major government campaigns.
      • >Ability to work quickly and independently across a range of public affairs disciplines (good all-rounder)
      • >Understanding of media plans and issues management experience.
      • >Management of campaign budgets

        Other Information

        >Tertiary qualifications in communications or related field (or equivalent experience).

        Security Clearance

        The candidate should hold a Baseline (or higher) security clearance.
